Details:This brooch is a modern take on a Lover's Eye.A beautifully detailed, sterling silver eye-symbolizing that one is being watched over - framed by pink pearls secured by gold pins and a vibrant turquoise tear drop.
During the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries "lover's eye" miniature portraits became a trend. Theseportraits - depicting thegiver's eye - would then be presented to a loved one for them to wear -whether set in a ring, brooch, snuff box, etc.
Measurements: The brooch is 3" tall by 2 1/2" wide.
