A lovely Italian micro mosaic brooch pin with a rose design centre. Beautiful, small pieces of glass were set into the brass to create a micro mosaic. Micro mosaics, or mini portraits, were very popular back in the 1800's as they allowed the owner to truly wear the art of a portrait on their garments. In good used condition with minor tarnishing to the brass but bright colours and all pieces of glass in place and present. Marked Italy to the back.
